Inlay and Pyrography

Check out the "Sketches" page

First, simple banjos with little to no inlay look great and certainly can be provided. Check out the stock banjo gallery.

Inlays are a personal component of any banjo. Inlay materials include Mother of Pearl, crushed shell, and/or other natural media. I crush and sieve shells with good iridescence then dye with various colors. Material are emplaced with CA glue. The result is a variety of colors that can be used to design unique creations. I also am combining inlay with pyrography (wood burning) to expand color, detail, and texture. Combined, these techniques offer a wide array of options to personalize your banjo.

The inlay process first involves sketching and exchange of ideas, then we can determine a final version. I have a some existing sketches for ideas or develop your own. You can find blank fretboard and head stock examples in the "Templates" menu.

Print them out and doodle.......

The "Sketches" page is provides some ideas.

Note: I am not a Michelanglo; however, we can work together to develop a banjo that is unique and reflects your specific concept.
